die，動詞，一般指因生病、負(fù)傷等原因而死，例如：His grandfather died two years ago，他爺爺去世兩年了。dead，形容詞，可以在句中作表語和定語，例如：my sister is dead，我姐去世了。death，名詞，只能在句中作主語或賓語，例如：his death made me sad，他的死讓我傷心。

（1）die是不及物動詞,一般指因生病,負(fù)傷等原因而死.如：

He was born in 1847 and died in

1913.他生于1847年,死于1913年.

注意：die表示瞬間動作,不能和表示一段時間的狀語連用.試譯：

他爺爺去世兩年了.

誤：His grandfather has died for two years.

正：His grandfather has been dead for two years.

正：His grandfather died two years ago.

（2）die用于進(jìn)行時態(tài)作“生命垂?！苯?如：

Please come quickly; your friend is

dying.請快來,你的朋友奄奄一息了.

（3）dead是形容詞,表示狀態(tài),可以在句中作表語和定語.如：

He is dead,but his name will live for ever in our

hearts.他雖然死了,但他的名字將永 遠(yuǎn)活在我們心中.

It doesn’t look like a dead fox.看來它不像一只死狐貍.

（4）death是抽象名詞,只能在句中作主語或賓語.如：

His death is weightier than Mount Tai.他的死比泰山還要重.

I heard of his death when I got to his

house.我到他家時得知他已經(jīng)去世了.
