名詞、代詞、動(dòng)名詞、疑問詞+不定式、賓語從句。owing to可以和due to換用，但在句中多作狀語，也可作表語。例句：He was out of work owing to a physical injury，他因?yàn)槭軅I(yè)了。

Owing to的用法

一、“復(fù)合介詞owing to +賓語”作“由于……”解，表示原因：

1. Owing to certain unforeseen circumstances, we failed to start yesterday. (原因狀語)由于某些未能預(yù)見到的情況，我們昨天未能出發(fā)。

2. We decided not to go to Shanghai by air, owing to the change of weather. (原因狀語)由于天氣變化，我們決定不坐飛機(jī)去上海。

3. These errors are owing to sheer carelessness. (表語)這些錯(cuò)誤純系由于粗心而引起。

4. It is all owing to your help that we have succeeded. (強(qiáng)調(diào)原因狀語)我們成功由于你們的幫助。

5. It was owing to these unforeseen difficulties that their plan did not succeed. (強(qiáng)調(diào)原因狀語)正是由于這些未能預(yù)見的困難，他們的計(jì)劃失敗了。

注：owing to的介詞短語一般是修飾全句的，故除了作表語或用于強(qiáng)調(diào)句型以外，多半用逗號(hào)和主句隔開。

二、由owing to the fact that引出原因狀語從句：

Her plan failed owing to the fact that she lacked experience.她的計(jì)劃失敗是因?yàn)槿鄙俳?jīng)驗(yàn)。(owing to the fact that 還可用due to the fact that代之。)
