choice是“選擇”，option是“選項”，選擇可以是無限的，不固定的，而選項是有限的。比如，大學畢業(yè)生走向社會，他們的choices是many, many的，理論上講是無限的，做什么都可以，什么都可以去試。

option和choice的區(qū)別

option和choice，兩者均有選擇的意思，從中文意義上很難分辨兩者的區(qū)別，我們從其英文含義及用法上進行辨析。
一、option和choice的相同點
1. 當option表示[可數(shù)]power or freedom of choosing，相當于choice(right or possibility of choosing; act of choosing between two or more possibilities)，表示“挑選；選擇權”
例句：
have little option=not much choice 沒有多少選擇的余地
I haven't much option(=choice) in the matter. 在這件事情上我無可選擇。
I have little option(=choice) but to go, ie I have to go. 我別無選擇只好走。
2. 當option表示[可數(shù)]thing that is or may be chosen，相當于choice( one of two or more possibilities from which sb may choose),表示“可供選擇的事物”
Make a list of the various options(=choices). 列出可供選擇的項目.
He was given one month's imprisonment without the option (=choice/alternative) of a fine. 他被判監(jiān)禁一個月, 不得以罰款相抵

二、option和choice的不同點

1. option (on sth) (commerce 商) right to buy or sell sth at a certain price within a certain time (按其價格在規(guī)定期限內買或賣某物的)選擇權:

an option on a package holiday 包價旅游選擇權

have an option on a piece of land 有買賣一地皮的選擇權

We have a 12-day option on the house. 我們是否購買那所房子有12天的選擇權.

在這里，choice不能替換option。

keep/leave one's options open: avoid making a decision now, so that one still has a choice later 暫不作決定; 留有選擇余地:

Don't take the job now keep your options open until you leave university. 先別接受這份工作--暫時保留選擇權, 到離開這所大學再說.

在這里，不是keep/leave one's choices。

2)choice

(1)out of/from choice willingly 愿意地

He helps her out of choice 他出于自愿幫助她。

(2)for choice寧可

I will take French for choice. 要選的話我就選法語。

(3)of one's choice 某人所選定的

First prize in the competition will be a meal at the restaurant of your choice. 獲頭獎者可自選飯店用一餐。
