should是虛擬語氣詞，而should be只是它的用法，這里的be是系動詞，在情態(tài)動詞should后用原形。should是情態(tài)動詞，是“應(yīng)該”的意思，從時態(tài)上說是一般將來時態(tài)，還沒有發(fā)生。是情態(tài)動詞，它的基本用法是必須和其他動詞一起構(gòu)成謂語。should后面要加動詞原形。

Should的用法

Should情態(tài)動詞沒有人稱和數(shù)的變化。

一、意為“應(yīng)該....應(yīng)當(dāng)..”。

should（應(yīng)當(dāng)，應(yīng)該）用于所有人稱，表示勸告或建議。

eg. You should wait a little more.

你應(yīng)該再多等一會兒。

--- I have a very bad cold.

我感冒很厲害。

--- You should lie down and have a rest.

你應(yīng)該躺下，多喝水。

二、should表示預(yù)期，意料之內(nèi)。

例：The train starts at 6 in the morning, and we should arrive there before noon.

三、作shall的過去式使用

在使用情態(tài)動詞shall的句中，如果出現(xiàn)在含有過去時間的謂語后面的賓語從句中，一般將來時的shall就應(yīng)該變成過去將來時的should。

例句：He said he should get the money back, whatever the cost！

他說他一定要把錢弄回來，不管付出多少代價。

四、表推測

It should be a nice day tomorrow.

明天應(yīng)該是個好天氣。

He should be home by now.

他現(xiàn)在應(yīng)該在家。

should沒有人稱和數(shù)的變化，其后跟動詞原形。如:

You should see a doctor at once.

She should take more exercise.

We / They should drink milk every day.

should的否定式是在should后面加not，可以縮寫為shouldn’t，意為“不應(yīng)當(dāng)；不應(yīng)該”。如：

You should not / shouldn’t work on the computer all day.
