other表示“別的”，“另外的”，只能與復數(shù)名詞連用。但other前有冠詞the即可與單數(shù)名詞連用。another表示“總數(shù)為三個以上中任意的另一個”，表示泛指。

another和other有什么不同

一、another 泛指（指三者或三者以上中的）另一個，既可作代詞又可作形容詞。

1、做代詞時

如：①、I have finished this book,please give me another. 我已經(jīng)寫完這本書了，請再給我一本。

②、I don't like this one .Please show me another .我不喜歡這一個，請再給我一個。

2、做形容詞

如: I will be back in another ten days. 我再過十幾天回來。

3、another one 另外一個

4、another+數(shù)詞+名詞復數(shù)=數(shù)詞+more+名詞復數(shù)

如: another ten chairs=ten more chairs 另外十把椅子

5、another+名詞單數(shù)=one more+名詞單數(shù)

如: another apple=one more apple 又一個蘋果

二、other 其他的，另外的，泛指另一個、另一些。作定語時，常與可數(shù)名詞復數(shù)連用。

如: We learn English、Chinese、Maths and other subjects.我們學習英語、語文、數(shù)學和其他科目。

但如果前面有the、some、any、each、every及形容詞性物主代詞時，可與可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)連用。
