can not, cannot就是can的否定形式，美國習(xí)慣分開些，英國一般連寫。cannot是“不可以”，而can not是“可以不”。cannot和can not都是書面語，不過can not語氣更加強(qiáng)烈。

can not和cannot的區(qū)別

1、意思不同

cannot(一個(gè)單詞)是縮寫can't的展開形式，意思是不可以。

而can not意思是可以不。

2、使用場景不同

cannot用于書面語，較為正式。

例如：If this can be tolerated, what cannot?

是可忍也，孰不可忍也？

而can not用于口語，比較隨便。

例如：I can not give the actual figures.

我不能舉出實(shí)際數(shù)字。

3、使用形式不同

can not 用于強(qiáng)調(diào)，當(dāng)not被用于強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)，這時(shí)是需要考慮用can not而不是cannot。

一、cannot

1、和too的搭配用法

cannot …too… "不可能把某事做過頭；決不會(huì)…太"，與can never…too同義。

例如：

But cannot too inflexible, because this play is comedic style.

但又不能太刻板，因?yàn)檫@部戲是喜劇風(fēng)格。

2、cannot but

后面加動(dòng)詞原形、動(dòng)名詞等，都表示“禁不住，不由得，不得不，不能不”的意思。

例如：I cannot help admiring the picture whenever I look at it.

不管什么時(shí)候看到這幅畫，我都禁不住要贊賞它。

二、can not

can not but + 動(dòng)詞原形，意思是不能不；不得不；只好；卻不能不；那么你就不能不。

例如：

We can not but allow you200 cases

since inquiries are so large.

我們只能給你們200箱因?yàn)樵儽P很多。
